I’ve received word an email may have gone out seeming to be from me asking you to reach outntonhelp me with something.
DELETE THE MESSAGE. And do not interact with it.
Remember: I’ll never ask you to help pay something with gift cards. No legitimate business or government agency will ask you to redeem gift cards for payment to someone for anything. These are scammers.

 If you receive a message that seems to be from someone you know but is suspicious,  contact them directly using a different method and a number/address you personally enter and do not reply to the text or email.
